A Michigan caseworker for a company that helps refugees was hospitalized Wednesday after being allegedly stabbed multiple times by an Afghan refugee, authorities said.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Confirmed X On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that an Afghan refugee had been arrested after stabbing a case worker. Wednesday afternoon, deputies received a report of a man being stabbed on Redroot Road near Silverbell Road and Kern Road. According to To WXYZ Detroit.
“The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. After investigation, it was determined that the suspect is an Afghan refugee and the victim is a caseworker for a company that assists refugees,” the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office posted.

The victim’s condition had not been updated as of Wednesday evening. But authorities said in a post that the caseworker “is undergoing surgery with multiple very serious stab wounds.” The identities of the suspect and victim have not yet been released as the investigation is ongoing.

The stabbing occurred two days after a Border Patrol agent was shot and killed during a traffic stop in northern Vermont. The incident was first reported by the Vermont State Police, in which an investigator was shot and killed in Coventry, Vermont.
After he was pronounced dead several hours later, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told the Daily Caller News Foundation that “the incident is currently under investigation and CBP will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to DCNF’s request for further information.
