Hiker stuck on Yavapai County cliff safe after late-night rescue: YCSO

Officials with the Yabapai County Sheriff’s Office said on February 14 that hikers were safe following late-night rescues at the beginning of the week.

What we know:

According to the statement, the rescue took place. Bell Rock. Deputies responded to the appeal of a man trapped on more than 100 cliffs on February 12 at about 11:30pm.

Officials say the man was hiking late in the afternoon and when he was confused he headed towards the trailhead and got stuck and he was headed towards the trailhead.

What they said:

“After realising he was in a very dangerous place, lawmakers requested the Yavapai County Search and Rescue Team, including Verde Search and Rescue Team and the Backcountry Rope Team,” reads part of the statement.

YCSO officials said the DPS Ranger helicopter ultimately wound up the hiker safely.

“The hikers didn’t need doctors to see them, but they were very cold,” part of the statement read.
