Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett was lit up by the Supreme Court on Monday to allow a federal judge to become “super-president,” costing him $2 billion.
The Supreme Court rejected a District of Columbia Judge Amir Ali on Wednesday in a 5-4 ruling that demands that Judges John Roberts and Judge Amy Coney Barrett join the High Court’s three liberal associate Justice and that the Trump administration pays $2 billion to various organisations. Jarrett said the damages inflicted by allowing Ali’s award to stand would extend beyond the financial implications of the award. “It’s important for our audience to know how, in my opinion, the legal system actually dropped the ball because the district court judges really set foreign policy,” Fox and his friend co-host Brian Kilmeade told Jarrett.
“Yeah, you know, Supreme Court Judge Sam Alito, whom you know, has denounced the judge in this district court. His name is Amir Ali, who abused his authority, and it’s clear that he ignores the law on immunity on sovereignty,” replied Jarrett. “And the rights of Alito, the President, under the Constitution, gives the executive authority the power to order money freeze, does so on foreign policy, national security reasons, avoiding waste.”
The actions of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) governing wasteful spending in government agencies, including the US International Development Agency (USAID) and the Social Security Agency (SSA), have been challenged in courts with complex consequences. A federal judge recently blocked a memo sent to federal agencies and directed thousands of probation workers to be denied, but other courts allowed Doge to carry out the activities.
“So, you know, by the way, this decision by Judge Ali, Biden’s appointee who was in court for the nanoseconds that force Trump to spend $2 billion, is that judicial work is amok,” Jarrett said. “I think it will ultimately be overturned by the Supreme Court, but by then it’s too late. This judge is forcing Trump to pay $2 billion, and they’ll never get it back.”
