video Share on Facebook Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelenki claims he has acquired the French company.
Verdict: False
There is no evidence of this claim.
Fact check:
Social media users claim that Zelenskyy bought the French company through his offshore company Maltex. (Related: Did Harper Collins omit 64,575 words in the NIV and ESV versions?)
“A few weeks before the sights inside the oval office, Ukrainian President Zelensky used his offshore company Maltex to purchase Millis Bank, one of France’s largest private equity banks, for 1.2 billion euros,” reads a post from one user.
This claim is wrong. If Zelenskyy had bought the Milleis Bank, the media outlets covered it, but don’t have it yet. Also, a wider internet search did not yield results for this request.
Check your facts I also reviewed the Millis Bank website, but it wasn’t state Purchased by Maltex. Pandora’s paper showed that Zelenskyy and his wife own a quarter of Maltex through a shell company called Film Heritage. Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.
