Democrats’ Lurch Further Left Exposes Cracks Between Biden And Progressive Party Elements, Mark Halperin Says

Political analyst Mark Halperin said on Newsmax on Friday that Democrat Pivot, heading left, noticed a growing tension between former President Joe Biden and more progressive party members.

In his appearance in “Carl Higbie: Frontline,” Halperin said this ideological rift from the Democratic Party seems to be giving President Donald Trump good fortune as his enemy appears to be fragmented. Halperin added that traditionally, the former president will retreat from the spotlight. But Biden’s departure was not typical.

“At some point, some high powers said they were trying to put extraordinary luck into their opponents in Donald Trump, and they’re going to keep it up until he fights Biden, AOC and Bernie Sanders forever,” Halperin said. “The former president has normally disappeared. The situation where Joe Biden left the stage seemed to reinforce the notion that he should leave the stage. But that’s everything Biden had ever known, and there’s a big vacuum.”

Questions among Democrats about his suitability when party leaders intensified as stories of Biden’s continued impact were broken.

“We could see why Biden thinks someone needs to step in there, but it doesn’t seem to be the Democrat I spoke to because that story is Biden’s answer. (Related: Dana Loesch warns that “fake” town halls could destroy democratic bases)

Halperin said that the ideological push towards the left poses its own challenges, leading Sanders and the AOC.

“AOC and Bernie at least inspire people. They portray crowds of thousands. They have a follow. I think it’s part of the coalition that Democrats build. Chuck Schumer isn’t that much Chuck Schumer, but part of what happened to Democrats is that Sanders and the AOC are moving to the far left where they need ideology.

After Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race in 2024, it was reported that he had reengaged in politics and expressed his desire to help rebuild the Democrats. He even met with DNC President Ken Martin in February to discuss his involvement with DNC President Ken Martin, who conveyed his willingness to fund, campaign and support the party’s efforts against Trump.

A few months ago, Democrat officials began to express serious concern about Biden’s choice after a disastrous debate performance in June. Pressure has been put on when Biden is even more behind in the polls. Biden eventually dropped out.
