Megyn Kelly Says One SCOTUS Justice Could Be On ‘Thinnest Of Possible Ice’ Over Trump’s Deportation Case Outcome

SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly predicted on Friday’s show that U.S. Supreme Court Judge John Roberts could be “the thinnest of ice possible” in response to a ruling in the Trump administration’s deportation case.

President Donald Trump’s Justice Department (DOJ) on Friday asked Scotus to block a lower court order to stop the deportation of members of the immigrant gangs living in the US on “Meggin Kelly Show.”

“John Roberts knows more than anything, whether he will pass on the ruling to the commander about what nine men and women in black robes are perceived as military threats unleashed by foreign governments to us, and he is now thin with possible ice,” Kelly said. “He’s obsessed with the courts. I can’t see him wanting to do it.”

On Wednesday, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals supported the United States to suspend deportation after Trump called the 1798 alien enemy law against Venezuelan gang Tren de Lagua in 1798 on March 15th. (Related: judges against the Trump administration have many conflicts of interest)

In response to Kelly, guest and political analyst Mark Halperin said Roberts occasionally votes for the Republican president, but he believes the outcome of the High Court decision can support Trump.

“Well, he [Roberts] “He sometimes votes for Republican presidents, so he sometimes votes. “He cares about the integrity of the courts, the reputation of the courts. They don’t all control merit,” Halperin said.

“In this case, and as you suggested, I think that respect for the commander of something like this is clearly something that has a popular will. You can find it. You don’t need to look outside the constitutional walls.

In a request to the Supreme Court, Acting Attorney General Sarah Harris wrote that the case “submits basic questions about who will decide how to carry out sensitive national security-related activities in this country,” adding that the “clear answer” to the constitution is that the president has power on the issue.

“They’ll probably vote for the president on this, but Roberts has to promote these things,” Halperin said. “It doesn’t make sense for America to not promote them. They should be on the fastest trucks. They should be on trucks like Bush vs Gore that aren’t treated like normal cases because it’s a campaign promise and it’s happening now.”
