The Yabapai County Criminal Justice Coordination Council (CJCC) announced the launch of a comprehensive new strategic plan, showing a new commitment by key stakeholders to work together and improve the local criminal justice system. The plan outlines clear goals and objectives aimed at increasing public safety, reducing inefficiency and promoting greater trust within the Yabapai County community.

The CJCC is a multi-agency organization consisting of representatives from law enforcement, prosecution, defense, courts, probation, victim services, local governments, and community organizations.

Recognizing the interconnectedness of the criminal justice system, the Council provides an important forum for these diverse entities to come together, share information, identify challenges, and develop collaborative solutions.

This new strategic plan represents a significant advance in the CJCC’s ongoing efforts. This was developed through extensive collaboration and opinions from all member institutions, and reflects Yabapai County’s shared vision of a more effective and impartial criminal justice system.

Key highlights of the new strategic plan include:

  • Enhanced public safety: A strategy focused on lowering crime rates, preventing recidivism, and supporting victims of crime.
  • Improved system efficiency: An initiative aimed at streamlining processes, maximizing resource utilization, and reducing unnecessary delays within the judicial system.
  • Improved collaboration and communication: Formalize and strengthen partnerships between member institutions and promote greater transparency with the community.
  • Data-driven decision-making: a commitment to using data and research to inform strategies and measure the impact of implemented programs.
  • Addressing systemic problems: Proactive efforts to identify and address underlying factors that contribute to crime and system inefficiency.

“Quote expresses enthusiasm for the new plan and its potential impact, focusing on the collaborative nature and community interests,” said Maury Thompson, manager of Yavapai County. “This strategic plan is a testament to the dedication of our member agencies and their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of Yabapai County residents.
