The city of Yuma has filed complaints against contractors responsible for their work in Yuma County and Ray Smacker Park.
Yuma, Arizona (Kyma, Kecy) – No complaints have been provided but have been filed by the city of Yuma.
All parties hope to resolve the issue and restore the former park.
Yuma Mayor Doug Nichols explains the points of the complaint.
“Make sure you pursue these things that interest us in implementing the project. That’s all. We are not playing a hostile role in Yuma County,” Mayor Nichols said.
Due to certain construction, some of the park has been closed and some plants have also died.
Local Yuman Isaiah Brown shares why he values the park.
“You can find things to do around Yuma. It’s one of them who knows you’re going to the park.
The project they are currently working on is a flood control structure.
Mayor Nichols has words of encouragement to those worried about the park.
“We are totally hoping to restore the park as much as possible, but they will fund it to help people return the park to where they expect it to be in the last 30 years. It’s a great park,” Mayor Nichols said.
As of March 4th, the city must first vote in a public session under the Arizona Public Meeting Act to file a lawsuit.
We reached out to the county, but they chose not to comment.
