The Yabapai County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $414,763.84 contract with Progressive Services Inc. to replace the roof of the Yabapai County Detention Center in Camp Verde between May 7th.
“This is another kind of important nature: protecting assets,” said facility director Brandon Scholtz. “It’s not as life safety as we’ve talked about before, and it’s like a normal roof replacement cycle for us,” county staff told the board that two areas of the prison roof will be repaired with TPO laminate fabric, and the roofs of Towers 3 and 4 will reach the end of their lifespan and will need to be replaced to prevent additional repair costs.
“This product here actually comes with a 20-year-old product, and we sat down with the staff and we thought about it for a long time and did some research and kicked it.
“This is the exact same guarantee that TPO offers, and you need the exact same protection.
“We have exactly the same coverage, so we can not only take care of the roofs we had budgeted for, but we can also extend those savings to the roofs we were trying to budget for this fiscal year.”
