Yuma — After seeing best-selling author Reina Grande talk about her memoir, A Dream Called Home, AWC invited the community to get involved.
This story is a moving account of a woman who decided to find her place in America and build a new life for her family.
“This book is about a first-generation Latino college student who uses her education to learn to find her way through life in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a writer. I think you can relate to the beautiful story,” said Amy Quinn, Yuma Librarian at Arizona Western College/Northern Arizona University.
US bestselling author Reina Grande will be visiting Yuma on Wednesday, March 1st to lead two community discussions.
- 1:00-2:00 pm, Academic Library (LR Building), Arizona Western College, 2020 S. Avenue 8E
- 6:30-7:30 PM Yuma Main Building, First Floor Conference Room, 2951 S. 21st Drive
A community discussion will be followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Both events are free and open to the public. You can purchase books at each event. In addition, the Yuma County Library and the AWC/NAU-Yuma Academic Library are currently lending print and electronic copies.
