U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) hosted the third Alabama Prayer Breakfast in the Kennedy Caucus Room on Wednesday morning.
Six out of Alabama’s nine congressional delegates spoke to a full audience, including Tuberville, Senator Britt (R-Montgomery), along with Representatives Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), Robert Adderholt (R-Haleyville), Gary Palmer (R-Hover), and Terry Sewell (D-Birmingham).
Tuberville began the event by honoring Rev. Cheette Williams, who was the longtime pastor for the Auburn Football Team. Sadly, Williams passed away in December due to an accident at Lake Martin. Tuberville noted that Williams was supposed to speak at the breakfast.
A small tribute table featured an Auburn football helmet and a rose, serving as a memorial for Williams.
Recently, Tuberville hinted at a gubernatorial campaign for 2026 after much speculation, making some indirect comments regarding his aspirations for the state’s top position.
In a lighthearted moment, Sewell jokingly thanked the “governor,” glancing at Tuberville before correcting herself.
The speeches from the delegation consistently focused on unity, marking a stark contrast to the partisanship seen in Washington recently.
“If we are united in Jesus Christ, we should reflect on the blessings we have in this country and across the world,” expressed Palmer.
In response to Palmer, Sewell remarked, “Though we may be a small nation—just nine in our delegation—our impact can be significant.”
Britt wrapped up the program with a short comment and then led everyone in reciting the Lord’s Prayer.
