Spire Inc. names Doyle as the new President and CEO, highlighting his extensive industry experience and business skills.

Spire Inc., a significant player in Alabama’s energy sector, has made a leadership change at the top. On Friday, it was announced that long-time employee Scott Doyle has been appointed as the new president and CEO, in addition to joining the board. Before this transition, Doyle served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer following the resignation of Teb Lindsey from the board.

The board is confident that Doyle is well-suited for this position.

“Scott is a collaborative leader with extensive industry knowledge, insightful business acumen, and a unique ability to connect with people and achieve results,” noted Rob L. Jones, chairman of the board at Spire Inc. “His experience in utility operations and deep grasp of the energy landscape make him an ideal choice as we enter this next phase.”

Jones highlighted that the board’s decision to choose Doyle was based on familiarity and trust in his capabilities to continue building on a robust foundation.

“We truly appreciate Scott’s commitment to Spire and look forward to his contribution as CEO,” he added.

Expressing gratitude after taking on his new role, Doyle reflected on the positive attitude of Spire’s employees and their dedication to serving customers and the community. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team and excited about our future. It’s an honor to be chosen for the president and CEO position,” he remarked.

Doyle emphasized that the company aims to modernize client-focused systems as part of its ongoing strategy.

“We’ve made significant progress towards excellence, and our mission remains the same. We’re thankful to continue collaborating with Steve and are eager to work closely with our board and the hardworking employees,” he stated.

As the executive vice president and chief operating officer, Doyle oversees Spire’s gas utility operations, which serve over 1.7 million customers in Alabama, Missouri, and Mississippi.

Former President Steve Lindsey expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead Spire. “Being at the helm of Spire was a true honor. With the dedication of many, the company is set to embark on a new era filled with opportunities. I’m confident that Spire has a bright future ahead,” he said.
