Person Linked to Violent Attack Against Tesla Connected to National Left-Wing Gun Group: DOJ

Transgender Suspect Linked to Leftist Gun Club in Oregon Incident

A transgender individual, Adam Laccy, is under scrutiny for allegedly bombing and shooting at a Tesla facility in Oregon. The Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed this connection to a leftist gun club, the Socialist Rifle Association (SRA), which boasts chapters across the U.S.

Federal prosecutors labeled Laccy as a “competitive shooter.” They highlighted in court that former SRA members claimed Laccy was involved in pretrial detention processes. The SRA promotes itself as a group dedicated to supporting the “working class,” emphasizing the need for self-defense education and training.

Laccy, who reportedly used the name Allison Tesla online, is accused of illegally possessing unregistered destructive devices and attempting arson. Prosecutors allege that he caused significant damage to Tesla dealerships in Salem, Oregon, earlier this year.

Neither the SRA nor Laccy’s legal representatives responded to inquiries for comments. Interestingly, the SRA’s rules explicitly disallow the advocacy of illegal activities.

Back in July 2024, the SRA encouraged more leftists to arm themselves for protection, which came about two weeks following a tragic shooting at a Trump campaign rally where a gunman killed both Trump and a supporter.

The SRA has over 60 chapters nationwide, with three located in Oregon, the site of Laccy’s alleged attack. Surveillance footage reportedly captured him throwing a Molotov cocktail shortly after Trump selected Elon Musk to oversee a government efficiency initiative.

In addition to the Molotov attack, prosecutors claimed Laccy aimed a firearm at a witness fleeing the scene. Just a month later, he allegedly fired a shot at the same Tesla facility.

On Wednesday, the DOJ argued that Laccy poses a flight risk and is a danger to the community. Despite these claims, a judge supported his pretrial release, although Laccy is to be detained pending a government appeal.

The DOJ warned that Laccy is skilled with firearms and capable of using improvised explosive devices, which could potentially be created with common household items. The local district attorney’s office is also contemplating additional charges against Laccy.
