Trump likens the ‘Jeffrey Epstein Hoax’ to Russiagate and criticizes his former supporters.

Trump Compares Epstein Case to Russiagate

On Wednesday, President Trump took to Truth Social to draw a parallel between “Jeffrey Epstein’s Hoax” and Russiagate, expressing frustration about his previous supporters who, he claims, fell for the narrative.

Following months of discussions regarding the Epstein Files, the DOJ and FBI unveiled their findings on July 6, revealing no client list existed and confirming that Epstein wasn’t murdered. This abrupt conclusion left many within Trump’s base feeling discontent.

In his post, Trump reiterated his doubts about the investigation, calling it a lockdown and stating, “The new scam is what we’ll call Jeffrey Epstein’s hoax forever, and my past supporters bought this ‘bullshit,’ hook, line, and sinker.” He also suggested that he hasn’t truly absorbed the lessons of past controversies like Russiagate, and likely wouldn’t in the future.

“I’ve probably achieved more success in six months than the history of any president,” he added, criticizing what he views as narratives driven by fake news and Democrats desperate for success.

Since the lawsuit wrapped up ten days ago, Trump’s supporters have been seeking answers. This frustration was fueled by repetitive promises from the administration regarding the contents of the documents.

Attorney General Pam Bondi had mentioned that she was reviewing a “client list,” and a group of conservative influencers received an initial binder from the Epstein files earlier this year.

Sources close to the situation expressed that Trump was displeased with how the Epstein case was handled. A senior official indicated that Bondi was aware there was no “client list” when she made her remarks on Fox News.

Despite having some documents related to Epstein under review, it appears that Bondi was uncertain about their contents. Confusion lingered about why she made certain statements, as officials noted that the DOJ often tends to overstate matters.

Some sources implied that Bondi bore significant responsibility for the misdirection coming from lower-level officials.

Controversy erupted when it was reported that Dan Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, and Bondi had a dispute over how the Epstein files were handled, prompting speculation about Bongino’s future in his role. However, administration officials confirm he remains in his position.

Trump later expressed his support for Bondi while distancing himself from the ongoing debates around the Epstein files.

When pressed for his opinion, he remarked, “I don’t know what interest is or what appeal is.”
