Fox News host Brett Byer and Fox News chief political analyst Britt Hume discussed the bribery allegations swirling around President Joe Biden on Monday’s episode of “Special Report.”
Hume joined Byer to share his thoughts on the whistleblower’s comments that Vice President Biden allegedly traded foreign policy decisions in exchange for cash. An alleged whistleblower complaint alleges Biden was involved in a $5 million bribery scheme. Hume said he wasn’t sure the public would see an FBI memo allegedly detailing the bribery scheme. Hume suggested the allegations could be a “major issue” for the campaign. He claimed many people questioned how Biden was able to support himself on his salary.
“But I think so, Brett. This idea that Biden is a fraudster and possibly a bribed person is kind of a covert problem for this election campaign. Biden is in Delaware. and other areas, at least in two places in Delaware, and I must say that for a man who lived on a government salary for many years as a senator and then as vice president, he lived very well. And a lot of people are interested in how he got so rich,” Hume said. “We don’t really know. If so, it raises new questions as to whether the president, then-vice president, could have been bribed.
The two then turned to discussing former FBI Director James Comey. Comey recently gave an interview with former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki on MSNBC. Comey praised Biden and said the president was “committed” to national values and the rule of law. The former FBI director told Psaki, “Nobody but Joe Biden.”
Hume denounced Mr. Psaki’s interview, claimed she asked Mr. Comey a softball question, and accused the former FBI director of “clear and repeated” misconduct.
“The interviewee was former Biden press secretary Jen Psakih. I don’t know if you’re going to consult James Comey about that, the whole thing is really great, I mean one Biden supporter can have a conversation with another Biden supporter over the past few years when Comey was FBI director. A result obtained without any challenging questions being asked about the apparent repeated misconduct. Remarkable.”
