“This feels like a slow-motion car crash,” an anonymous Democrat told the magazine. “Mr. Trump has deep and serious flaws. I don't think women are in a bind. Maybe Biden can still rally his base. But it's too late. If you don’t, you don’t need to pay attention.”
Another Democratic lawmaker told Politico that the results were alarming, even though the polls “measure the passage of time and the election is a long way away.”
