Meet Lola, a 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who has been in the care of the Arizona Humane Society for over 60 days. Lola arrived at us after being transported from a local emergency animal clinic where she was first dropped off by a good Samaritan. Lola was living as a stray on the streets of Phoenix when she somehow found her way into the play area of a pet resort and started a scuffle with the other dogs there. In our care, she was treated for dog bite wounds on her face, neck, and elbow, but was otherwise in good health. Because we met at a pet resort, Laura was understandably shy during her first few weeks with us, but eventually she opened up and let her personality shine. She already knows tricks like “sit” and “shake,” loves to crawl into your lap and snuggle, is good at fetch and play, and is eager to meet new people.
