Meet Boogie, a 3-year-old German Shepherd dog mix who has been in the care of the Arizona Humane Society for over 60 days. This gentle giant was handed over to our field team by its previous owner. He sustained multiple wounds to the right side of his face, head, and neck and was admitted to our trauma hospital. Our veterinary team treated his wounds, completed a general examination, and ultimately diagnosed him with papillomatosis. Papillomatosis is a common virus in young dogs that causes warts on the mouth and face. Although Boogie is otherwise in good health, prospective owners should monitor for viruses and contact their veterinarian if they have any concerns. That’s a small price to pay for the unconditional love and joy that Boogie is sure to bring into your life. This cuddle bug may be a little shy at first, but once you earn his trust, he’ll pay attention to you and cuddle with you.
