Meet Chris P., a 5-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who is working hard to become the dog of his dreams. Last October, Chris P. was picked up by the Arizona Humane Society from an emergency veterinary clinic following a suspected car collision. Because Chris P. was treated as a stray dog, his background is unclear and the hardships he may have endured while living on the streets are shrouded in mystery. Chris P started his AHS career in an understandably distrustful and reactive state due to having spent time alone. But thanks to lots of love and patience from our behavioral team and volunteers, he has made an incredible change. In recent months, his true self has shined through and we've learned that Chris P. is a goofy little boy who is full of energy and loves to play and hike.
