Meet Blizzard, an 11-month-old American Pit Bull Terrier who started life as a stray dog. After less than a year on this earth, Blizzard was already having to fend for himself on the streets of Phoenix. Last December, a good Samaritan reported seeing the puppy hit by a car on a security camera, and Blizzard was rescued by a field team and immediately admitted to a trauma hospital for evaluation. Our veterinarian noticed that the puppy was clearly uncomfortable during the examination and was unable to stand on his own. This observation led to X-rays, which revealed that Blizzard's pelvis was fractured and would take time to heal. The pup spent several weeks recovering in a loving foster hero home where he could rest in a quiet and quiet environment for optimal rehabilitation.
