Alabama Farmers Federation promotes primary endorsements ahead of March 5 election

The Alabama Farmers Federation has endorsed a group of elected officials and leaders for the upcoming 2024 election cycle. The group posted a “FarmPAC Voter Guide” on Tuesday detailing its support for candidates.

Federation President Jimmy Purnell said Alabama Farm PAC's endorsement reflects the grassroots nature of the organization and evidence of candidates' efforts to meet with members and hear their concerns.

“Our support is recommended by the mayors or their representatives of all 67 counties in Alabama and the state board of governors,” Parnell said. “These candidates have spent months traveling around the state meeting with county Farmers Federations and individual members. This process not only speaks to the influence of the Alabama Farmers Federation, but also to the selection process. It is also a process to ensure that elected officials understand the issues facing their constituents.”

The 2024 primary election will be held on March 5th, and the primary runoff election will be held on April 16th. The general election is scheduled for November 5th.

The Alabama Federation of Agriculture is the state's largest agricultural organization with approximately 350,000 members. It is made up of 67 independent county federations that act as the voice of the local agricultural industry.
