Alabamians are ‘looking for a bold conservative’ – ALGOP Chairman Wahl says of major Trump win

Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wall said former President Donald Trump's landslide victory in the state on Super Tuesday was a sign that Alabamians overwhelmingly supported his America First message. I believe.

Trump won 83.2% of the vote in the Alabama Republican primary, the highest percentage of any state on Super Tuesday. Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley finished in second place with just 13% of the vote.

Wall praised Trump's victory Wednesday on WVNN's “Yaffee Program.”

“I think this says a lot about the position of Republican voters in Alabama,” Wall said. “They're looking for bold conservatives. They're looking for people who are going to really push back against the establishment, go to Washington, D.C., drain the swamp, have a real impact on people's daily lives. He's someone who speaks seriously about the issues that exist. He has a politically correct message, but he also has an America-first message.”

The Republican Party chairman believes most people who voted for Haley in the primary will vote for Trump in the general election.

“Republican primary voters who voted for Nikki Haley because they supported Nikki Haley somehow think that Joe Biden and his policies will actually be better for the country than Donald Trump. “There can't be one,” he argued. “It's a mainstream media fantasy that will never come true.”

Wall said there is currently far more energy among voters for Trump than there is for Biden.

“The other thing that tends to get swept under the rug and people don't consider is voter excitement,” he says. “Who can hit the bases and get a few percentage points based on their turnout? And look, we’ve seen it for years with Donald Trump…Donald Trump’s support They're engaged, they're excited, they're going to vote. They're not going to vote for Joe Biden very often.”

He also believes many independents who voted for Biden in 2020 will switch to Trump in 2024.

“We've been talking about suburban families and suburban mothers and the impact they had on the last election cycle. When you ask them what their kids are learning in school, they're on the Democratic side. “I’m on the Republican side instead,” he said. . “And I think there’s a silent vote there that people are ignoring.”
