American Idol Contestant Doug Kiker, Who Wowed Katy Perry, Dies Suddenly At Age 32

“American Idol” contestant Doug Kikhar, known affectionately as “Singing Garbage Man,” passed away unexpectedly on Monday at the age of 32.

Doug’s sisters Angela Evans and Donna Keeker Carillos Ramirez passed away on Facebook on Wednesday, and announced the singer’s ex-fiance, Valerie Cook, brother William and mother Joyce I confirmed his death To TMZ. Cook said he was saddened by the fact that his children lost their father.

Evans shared a statement on his crowdfunding page, saying, “This is totally unexpected and we are not fully prepared, so we can help a little to bring him home from Denver, Colorado and give him a memorial worthy of not just him but everyone.” However, she did not provide details about the circumstances leading up to his death.

The Gofundme page described the fallen star as “a beloved son, brother, father, friend.” Over $1,400 had been raised by the time of publication.

Doug was survived by two children who were with his ex-fiance, Valerie Cook.
