Anti-Antisemitism Group Launches App to Report Antisemitic Incidents Instantly

New App Launched to Report Antisemitism

The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) announced on Tuesday a new smartphone application called Report It. This app provides a platform for users to report incidents like graffiti, harassment, incitement, and violence, which can then be forwarded to law enforcement, media outlets, and community organizations. CAM mentioned that verified reports would be carefully evaluated prior to further action.

CAM pointed out a worrying increase in antisemitic incidents globally, citing over 12,000 documented cases in the past five years according to the Center for Anti-Semitism Research. In a survey commissioned by CAM, conducted between August and September 2024, around 3.5 million Jewish Americans reported having “personally encountered antisemitism” since the attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023.

The organization highlighted that a significant proportion—estimated between 50% and 80%—of antisemitism cases go unreported. The Report It app aims to capture a broader understanding of the issue by encouraging more people to share their experiences.

Sacha Roytman, CEO of CAM, emphasized that many antisemitic incidents remain unreported due to mistrust in authorities or hurdles in the existing reporting systems. “With this app, we aim to provide a quick and safe avenue for people to expose such hatred, hold wrongdoers accountable, and foster meaningful change,” he stated.

The app allows users to report incidents anonymously, ensuring that personal information is kept confidential. However, specifics regarding the process for verifying reports or the criteria for contacting authorities were not disclosed.
