Network construction company EX² Technology has been selected to build 27 towers in Arizona to enhance local precision agriculture efforts.

The 27 towers will be built by Ex² Technology to enhance water conservation and precision agriculture efforts in Yuma County, the Vivacity Company announced.
Following the project, all six farms in Yuma County’s irrigation district will have broadband access. Ex² Technology Tuesday Announcement.
In total, Yuma County has over 190,000 acres of farmland, with 94% of which being irrigated. Collectively, farmland brings more than $3 billion a year to the county, according to the release of EX² Technology.
Following Yuma County’s selection of Ex² technology, comments from Yuma County manager Ian McGoggie explained the importance of the project in the company’s announcement.
“This infrastructure will serve as a catalyst for enabling smart irrigation systems, including remote soil sensing, automation, mechanization, and socioeconomic growth.” McGaughey said. “Yuma County will position itself as a leader in agricultural technology and connectivity for years to come.”
According to EX² Technology, assistance in funding the project will be funded by a $6 million grant.

Christopher RabbyCEO of Vivacity Infrastructure Group praised EX² Technology’s partnership with Yuma County.

Another Vivacity Company, Terra Consulting Group, is also involved in the project, according to the release.
“This partnership combines Ex²’s deep expertise in fiber optic infrastructure solutions with Terra’s special features in wireless site design and infrastructure development,” the release states.
Last year, Ex² created the news in Arizona by invading a 100-mile open-access dark fiber network.
As reported at the time, it expands connectivity in Navajo County, one of the state’s most rural corners.
