ARIZONA, USA — The Arizona legislature on Thursday considered a law banning sex dolls that look like children.

A number of these dolls have been found nationwide, including three in Pinal County, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
“We need to do everything we can to prevent pedophiles from harming children,” Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb said. “This amendment is an excellent step toward providing Arizona law enforcement and prosecutors with the tools they need to protect children.”
Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee heard the pros and cons of the bill. Proponents said the bill could prevent behavior that leads to child abuse, but opponents worry the law is too broad.
“This sex doll is not the end result. This is not a replacement. County Deputy Attorney Jim Hurd said.
It is too broad, vague, and ill-aligned. I know the senator has raised issues about the doll paintings, but when I read the actual wording of the bill, none of that is actually in the bill,” said Arizona’s criminal justice attorney. said Katie Gipson McLean.
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the bill 6-1.that Now moving to the Senate floor.
