PHOENIX — A human remains found in Mojave County in 2021 has finally been identified, officials announced Monday.
The remains have been identified as 56-year-old Golden Valley native Brian Crane. Mojave County Sheriff’s Office Othram Inc., a company focused on detectives and forensic genealogy.
Police said the family was reported missing on September 17, 2020 after not hearing from him for several weeks.
The remains were discovered by a citizen near Dewey Road and Agua Fria Drive in the Golden Valley west of Kingman on January 18, 2021, but the Mojave County Coroner’s Office was unable to identify the victim.
The remains were identified as Crain after samples were sent to Othram for advanced DNA testing and forensic-level genome sequencing in February of this year.
However, the cause of death could not be determined.
