Phoenix (AZ Family) — With just two months until Election Day, Maricopa County staff are hard at work preparing, proofing and printing 21,534 ballots to distribute by mail and in-person voting centers.
According to the Maricopa County Board of Elections, the county This will be one of the longest ballots in recent years: Ballots will be two pages long and will contain an average of 79 different election items, so voters are advised to plan to explore all of their voting options.

While the presidential and U.S. Senate races may be top of mind for many voters in the state, this year's elections also include congressional seats, legislative positions, school board races, tax proposals, judges and several ballot initiatives.
“With historic turnout expected and two-page ballots for Maricopa County voters, elections officials are preparing for longer than usual lines on Election Day,” county officials said in a news release this week.
The first page of the ballot contains federal, state, county and local elections, while the second page contains state and countywide ballot propositions.
Additionally, Arizona law requires that partisan candidates run in order of the party that received the most votes in that county's gubernatorial race in the last election. Maricopa County has said that for the first time since 2010, a Democrat will run first in a partisan race following Gov. Katie Hobbs' victory in the 2022 gubernatorial race.

The deadline to register to vote in the general election is Monday, October 7. Early voting begins Wednesday, October 9.
Ballots will be mailed to military personnel and citizens living overseas on September 21st.
