Barry Moore Announces Senate Campaign
Barry Moore, a Republican from Alabama, declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, framing his campaign as a battle against what he described as “Washington Swamp, Linos, Socialists, and Communists” in the Democratic Party.
“I’m running for the Senate because the people of Alabama deserve someone who collaborates with Trump supporters to safeguard their freedoms,” Moore stated. He emphasized that he was the first elected official in the nation to back Donald Trump and asserted his commitment to supporting Trump’s agenda in the Senate. He pointed out his experience as a member of the Freedom Caucus in Congress as a basis for his campaign.
If he wins, Moore expressed intentions to “work tirelessly to secure our borders, deport illegal immigrants, cut taxes, abolish ‘woke’ ideologies, and uphold Christian values alongside constitutional freedoms.”
Reflecting on his upbringing, Moore said, “On a farm in Coffee County, I discovered that the true strength of this nation lies not with the political elite, Wall Street billionaires, or career bureaucrats, but with hardworking families here in Alabama.”
He also highlighted his record in legislation, mentioning his advocacy for military families, tax cuts, Second Amendment rights, preventing children’s indoctrination with what he called the “Democratic trans agenda,” protecting unborn children, and eliminating wasteful government spending.
Moore, who owns a waste removal company, remarked, “I know how to eliminate waste in Washington, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in the U.S. Senate.”
The formal launch of his campaign is set for Friday in DeKalb County, where his wife, Heather, hails from.
“This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about you—your family, your freedom, and the future of our great country. Too many politicians want to turn Alabama into Washington. I think it’s time we make Washington reflect Alabama a bit more,” he added.
Moore, who was born and raised in Coffee County, identifies as a Christian, husband, and father, while also being a small business owner involved with the Alabama Guard Reserve. He was the first elected official nationwide to endorse Trump in August 2015 at an event in Mobile.
Moore attended Auburn University, where he joined the Alabama National Guard Reserve and met his wife, Heather. Following their graduation, they established their waste removal and demolition company with just one truck, which has since expanded significantly over the years.
Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, Moore is recognized by CPAC as Alabama’s most conservative member and has been nominated by the Center for Legislative Excellence as the state’s most effective lawmaker. He has been a vocal opponent of what he terms “Biden’s Department of Justice, border aggression, and the radical left’s social agenda.”
Moore and Heather have four children, two grandchildren, and two dogs. He continues to reside in Coffee County.
