BCA endorses Kelvin Datcher in Alabama HD52 special election



Of the seven candidates vying for the Alabama House of Representatives' 52nd District seat, Kelvin Dutcher is billed as pro-jobs, pro-business by the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) and is officially endorsed by the council's political arm, Progress PAC.

“Progress PAC is proud to support leaders who are focused on growth and solutions and committed to moving Alabama forward,” said Progress PAC Chairman Will Wilson. “Our mission is to foster a business-friendly environment that strengthens communities and creates job opportunities across our state. We will support candidates who are committed to protecting and supporting employers who drive quality job creation for all Alabamians.”

According to the BCA, their nomination of Kelvin Dutcher was “based on his proven commitment to the community and his vision for a more prosperous future for all residents. With a track record of advocacy and service, Dutcher embodies the qualities necessary to effectively represent the interests of the district. His dedication to addressing important issues facing his constituents, such as economic opportunity and education, reflects a deep understanding of the challenges facing Alabama families.”

Seven candidates are running to fill the Alabama House seat vacated by longtime Rep. John Rogers, who resigned after pleading guilty to federal crimes.

The special primary election for the 52nd Congressional District will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, with a runoff election for the special primary, if necessary, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, and a special general election on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
