Biden Admin Touts Reduction In Border Crossings While Flying In Hundreds Of Thousands Of Migrants

The Biden-Harris administration on Monday boasted about a recent decline in illegal border crossings, even as the latest immigration data showed hundreds of thousands of migrants have been allowed into the U.S. through alternative routes set up by the White House.

“CBP continues to implement the Border Security Interim Final Rule, imposing tough penalties on illegal entry, and encounter rates between ports of entry remain at their lowest levels in recent years,” Acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller boasted in a CBP press release.

According to a CBP press release, approximately 530,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans have flown into the country and been released on parole under an initiative launched by the Biden-Harris administration called the CHNV Program. Additionally, approximately 813,000 migrants have scheduled interview appointments at ports of entry since the launch of the CBP One app in January 2023.

House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green Previously referenced He accused CHNV and the CBP One app of being a “large shell game” that allows inadmissible foreigners to enter the country legally instead of crossing the border illegally.

The administration also noted that since Biden's executive order took effect in June, the Department of Homeland Security has deported more than 131,000 foreign nationals to more than 140 countries, nearly tripling the percentage of foreign nationals who received expedited removal processing.
