Biden Associate Acknowledges Team Declined Cognitive Test Due to Political Concerns

Anita Dunn, a former senior adviser to President Joe Biden, reportedly acknowledged that Biden’s close team had declined to undergo a cognitive assessment.

During his testimony to the House Oversight Committee on Thursday, Dan shared that this decision was made because it offered no clear political benefit, as sources revealed.

In a statement leaked to the media, Biden suggested that he remained engaged in their interactions, arguing that he was “fully involved.” A spokesperson for the home supervisor commented, “It’s not surprising that Anita Dunn is telling Americans not to trust their observations.”

Dan claimed the statement was leaked before he could present it, highlighting the extreme lengths Biden’s supporters go to defend his presidency. He also noted that the former president’s team opted against Super Bowl interviews due to insights shared in February 2024 by DOJ Special Advisor Robert Herr.

Dunn insisted during her opening that Biden’s mental acuity allows him to perform his duties effectively. She remarked that while Biden acknowledged aging—a natural process for all presidents—he remained actively engaged in decision-making.

“His capacity to identify weaknesses in research and make informed decisions did not wane during my time at the White House,” she stated. Dunn added that the staff did not act on significant decisions without Biden’s approval, stating, “The president made it clear it was his decision, and the staff presented him with issues for him to resolve.”

Dunn expressed strong belief in Biden’s effectiveness as president, highlighting his accomplishments for the American people. Interestingly, she mentioned that despite knowing Biden since the 1980s, she only became aware of his stylistic choices through media reports in 2020.

Previously, Dunn held the role of Senior Advisor for the Biden-Harris Campaign, where she directed messaging and overall strategy, as noted by the Wall Street Journal.

Additionally, she had served as a senior adviser on Barack Obama’s campaign and subsequently as White House Communications Director early in his administration.

In related testimony, Bruce Reid, a former senior adviser, asserted that any debate struggles Biden faced were not indicative of cognitive issues. Two other senior aides, Stee Blichetti and Mike Donilon, also provided hours of testimony as part of the committee’s inquiries.
