Biden Avoids Press As Hunter’s Legal Issues Mount

President Joe Biden has dodged the press multiple times over the past few days surrounding his son’s court appearances, dodging any questions about Hunter Biden.

The president avoided making public appearances, either silencing yelling questions or walking away from curious reporters.

Biden left for Maine on Friday and had two opportunities to answer questions about his son before boarding Marine One and Air Force One. He left both times.

The president plans public events on Monday and Wednesday, the days Hunter Biden pleaded guilty after trying to reach a plea bargain with the Department of Justice (DOJ) but the deal fell through. I didn’t.

On Thursday, the president met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, but did not host a joint press conference after the meeting, as he has done with other world leaders during his administration. Biden has previously held press conferences with French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, South Korean President Yoon Seo-yue, British Prime Minister Rishi Snack and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

White House press secretary Carine Jean-Pierre said the absence was due to “diplomatic conversations.”

After speaking with Mr. Meloni, reporters had a chance to yell at Mr. Biden and ask him questions, but Mr. Biden simply smiled instead of answering.

The president also declined questions after making remarks on mental health on Tuesday.

On Thursday, he walked off the stage at the South Court Auditorium to avoid questions after giving a talk about protecting communities from the heat wave.
