Bill Maher Critiques Female Co-Hosts on “The View”
In a recent episode of his podcast “Club Random,” comedian Bill Maher suggested that the female co-hosts of “The View” may not fully embody the essence of womanhood.
Maher, who appeared on “The View” in May 2024, noted the left-leaning views of co-hosts like Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar. He expressed a fondness for all of them but felt they didn’t quite represent their gender alongside their political stances.
“I love Whoopi [Goldberg] and Joy; those are two that I really know. I went in like I did a year ago, and I liked everyone,” Maher remarked.
He also mentioned that certain statements made during the show seemed ineffective for electoral support.
During his conversation with Hostin, Maher reflected on the concept of “awakening.” He stated that despite his past engagement with racial issues, he felt somewhat manipulated and misunderstood. “You should not tell me that the left has not changed,” he said. He recounted his experiences, recalling a time when he held conservative views and how perspectives have shifted significantly, especially towards organizations like Hamas.
Furthermore, Maher shared his concerns about self-censorship affecting his credibility, especially regarding criticisms of President Joe Biden. Behar asked him if he worried that voicing his opinions could sway undecided voters. Maher admitted, “I think you lose all your credibility. My connection with my audience is based on the idea that I’m not pulling any punches.”
Additionally, on July 28th, Maher expressed thoughts on a previous “The View” episode where comparisons were made about the treatment of Black Americans and Iranian citizens. He remarked, “That’s again picking fights with the far left. It’s like waking up in 1920, and I once thought like Whoopi Goldberg. I don’t feel that way anymore.”
Currently, “The View” is on its annual summer hiatus, typically observed in August.
