Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday blasted the media for trying to “whitewash” Vice President Kamala Harris' record ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
DeSantis slammed Harris when asked by Fox News' Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” what he thought about the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate's “rebranding.”
“What's your reaction to this new rewriting of history, this rebranding of Kamala Harris?” Bartiromo asked.
DeSantis told Bartiromo that policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration have put Democrats in a “very precarious position” ahead of the elections in 2024. The Florida governor said the media “worked really hard to throw Biden off” after Biden's poor performance in the debate against Republican candidate Donald Trump.
“What you're seeing right now is every artery of the left, corporate media, Hollywood, academia. They're using all of the king's horses and the king's men to bring the Democratic Party back together, and they have to whitewash Harris' record to make sure the American people see her clearly,” DeSantis said. DeSantis called Harris “incredibly vapid” and “even more incredibly liberal.”
“She owns every policy of the Biden-Harris Administration!” DeSantis yelled. “She owns the border. She owns inflation. She's cheered for it every day for the last three and a half years.”
“I don't think it's going to work,” he continued, “but don't get me wrong, it's going to be 100 days of massive corporate media gaslighting.”
DeSantis noted that GabTrac had removed a 2019 webpage that had declared Harris “the most liberal of all senators.” He warned that “this trend will continue” as Democrats “try to mislead the American people.”

“There's going to be a torrent of lies over the next few months,” DeSantis said. “That's all there is to it. There's going to be no resistance from the entrenched corporate media. They're going to try to rewrite history and portray her as someone she's not.”
Within a week of announcing her support after President Joe Biden decided not to seek reelection, Harris had garnered endorsements from top Democrats including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama.
