The report said the caller identified a man who allegedly looked like a llama and told his female companion to hide so police could only chase him.

During the chase, officers brought in a K-9 dog named Rudy, who was shot dead in a tragic moment, according to body camera recordings. Helicopter video footage showed the llama running toward a residential area as police warned the fugitives to drop their weapons, the newspaper said. The lama was then shot and pronounced dead.
Rudy was taken to a veterinarian but died from his injuries. The tragedy comes a week after Rudy and his handler Deputy Day finished first in the Handler Protection category at the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s K-9 trial.
According to Fox News, Rudy’s memorial service was held on May 31.
