Branch named civil deputy attorney for Coconino County

The former Navajo Attorney General Ethel branch is the new deputy citizen attorney at the Coconino County Attorney’s Office.

The branch that served as the 11th and 13th Attorney General of the Navajo Tribe was bįįhbitoodnii, born for Nakaii Dineye. She grew up on her family’s ranch south of Twizi.

“We are excited to welcome the Ethel branch as Coconino County’s new deputy civic attorney,” said Ammon Barker, Coconino County attorney. “Ethel’s extensive experience and dedication to public service make her a perfect fit for this role.

“We are confident that her legal expertise will benefit our county and help us continue to provide the highest level of service to our community.”

Barker’s leadership is truly inspiring, Branch said.

“I am honored to be part of his hardworking team of lawyers,” she said Friday night. “They embody the highest ideals of the legal profession: commitment to honor, integrity, discipline, excellence, compassion, and kindness.

“It is a special honor to serve the county where I was born and raised.

Branch is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Harvard Kennedy School, and Harvard University.

As Attorney General, the branch has been working to address the leak of Gold King Mine, helping to preserve Shashujaa, and securing Indian water rights settlement agreements in northeastern Arizona. I overseen the work.

“We are thrilled to have this incredible civil servant and experienced advocate join our team,” the Coconino County Law Office wrote in today’s news post.
