Called for jury duty in Maricopa County? Here’s what to know

All Maricopa County residents over the age of 18 are required to serve on a jury if they receive a subpoena.

People who have been convicted of a felony and whose rights have not been restored do not have to serve time in prison.

If you receive a subpoena, your employer must provide accommodations.

“State law prohibits employers from firing or discriminating against employees who spend time serving on a jury if the employee provides reasonable notice before serving on a jury. .” According to Maricopa County Superior Court.

However, your employer is not required to pay you for your time serving on a jury. Maricopa County will pay $12 per day plus mileage for each day someone has to appear in court for services.
