SAFFORD — Only one slot remains in the 2023 Gila Idol Finals after Thursday’s show.
The judges selected Hunter Chamberlin for the final following his performance of “Neon Moon” on callback night at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce.
“I’ve been doing Gira Idol for a really long time and it’s the result I always wanted and never really got.” ”
The judges also selected five alternates. Rachel Flatt singing “Set Fire to the Rain”. Bethany Dixon singing “Love Me”. Garrett Morris singing “You Raise Me Up”. Kiena Vanchaal singing “Come What May”. Blanca Macario sings “Lovely”.
Callback Night’s judges were 2017 Gila Idol winner Darin Kamae, 2008 winner Adam Krohn, and 2011 winner Sharon Montoya.
Viewers also enjoyed special performances by Kelly Vanshere and 2016 Gila Idol winner Brianna Morris.
It will be up to the public to decide who will take the final spot in the 2023 Gila Idol Finals on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the David M. Player Center for the Arts.
The performances of all the substitutes selected in this year’s qualifiers can be viewed at GilaValleyCentral.net and everyone can vote for who should take the last spot in the finals. It will be announced on Monday morning, March 20, at The Reed Richens Show on Cut Country 102.3 FM.
