Charlamagne Claims Trump Is ‘Over’ Being Nominee Due To ‘PTSD’ From Assassination Attempt

Radio host Charlaman “The God” claimed on CNN on Wednesday that former President Donald Trump is “finished” as the Republican presidential nominee because of “PTSD” from the July assassination attempt.

As the Democratic National Convention (DNC) entered its third day, CNN invited Charlamagne and another podcast host to discuss the fierce contest between President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Charlamagne doubled down on his radio show, saying he believes Trump has lost interest in running for president in 2024, either because of PTSD from the assassination attempt or to avoid jail time in connection with his upcoming trial in New York. “I think what Nikki Haley said when she said the first party to get rid of an 80-year-old candidate is going to win this election is going to be true,” Shahramane said. “I think he's fed up with it. I mean, what the hell did that guy get shot for? It was a month ago.”

“I think PTSD has something to do with it. I think all of the behavior that Donald Trump is exhibiting right now is just a response to the trauma. He's just keeping himself busy because he has absolutely nothing else to do,” Charmagne continued. “Or maybe it's just his ego saying, 'Hey, I don't want to go to jail, I need to keep campaigning.' But I don't think he wants to be a candidate in any way, shape, or form.”

“He doesn't want to be there anymore,” Charmagne said, “and you can hear it in his voice.” Donald Trump “I'm over it. I don't want to be the Republican candidate anymore.”

Radio host Charlaman declined to endorse President Joe Biden in May but has endorsed Harris since she became the Democratic presidential nominee. During his show on Wednesday, Charlaman received backlash from a caller who questioned why he and his co-stars were “obsessed” with Harris.

“I've actually been a supporter of the vice president since 2020. I campaigned with her a few times in 2020. I like her message of rebuilding the middle class,” Charmagne replied. “Do I like the Democratic Party as a whole? No, but she has some policies that I support.”
