Chris Beaker III Announces Full Term Candidacy
Chris Beaker III, a Republican representing Green County Tuscaloosa and currently holding second place on the Alabama Public Service Commission, revealed on Monday his intentions to pursue a full term.
Beaker was appointed to the commission by Governor Kay Ivey in 2024, following in the footsteps of his father, Chip Beaker. His campaign emphasizes public services grounded in faith, family, and a dedication to rural Alabama communities alongside energy independence.
“I am running to continue advocating for the freedom of Alabama families, farmers, and our energy sector,” Beaker stated. “From my experience with President Trump at the USDA to my current position on the Public Service Commission, I’ve become even more committed to Alabama values and America-first policies. Now, we need strong conservative leadership to safeguard our way of life.”
Prior to his role on the commission, Beaker was the state director for the US Department of Agriculture in Alabama, a position he received through an appointment by President Trump. During his time at the USDA, he supported a vision that prioritized local Alabama farmers.
At the Public Service Commission, Beaker has pushed for what he calls affordable, reliable, and domestically produced energy.
“Food and energy security are crucial to national security. The future of Alabama’s energy sector must be based on strength,” Beaker commented. “We need leaders who will stand against the extreme climate agenda of the left and uphold conservative values.”
“We must put forth policies that lower energy costs and prioritize American workers. That’s what I aim to do.”
If elected, Beaker intends to continue defending conservative values, championing the needs of rural Alabama and working-class families, enhancing the state’s energy security, and lowering energy costs for residents.
