Chris Cuomo Commends Trump’s Positive Foreign Policy Actions

On a recent episode of The Chris Cuomo Project, Chris Cuomo expressed his belief that President Donald Trump took significant foreign policy actions during his second term. In this particular episode, the show’s hosts discussed Trump’s performance over the first six months of his term and gave him a “B” grade for his foreign policy decisions. Cuomo referenced the Iran-Trump deal from June, which he viewed as a pivotal moment that led NATO to fund weapons for Ukraine, thereby justifying the grade.

Cuomo mentioned Iran’s regime, stating, “As long as it has its regime in place, which is an extreme Islamist terrorist regime, it oppresses its own people. They are a threat to us and to Israel.” He added that as long as this regime exists, there will be an ongoing aggressive threat, emphasizing that military action sent a strong message and that America’s involvement was crucial in defeating adversaries.

Furthermore, multiple intelligence agencies, including the DIA and CIA, have indicated that the US has significantly impacted Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Cuomo remarked, “I’ve equipped Ukraine and incentivized neighboring countries to aid them. That’s a solid strategy.” He praised Trump’s approach to NATO, suggesting it has been effective.

In a July 10 interview with NBC News, Trump noted that NATO had worked on a US-supported missile cargo bill for Ukraine during the June summit in The Hague. Cuomo’s producer highlighted the working relationship between Trump and NATO’s executive director, Mark Latte, which Cuomo agreed has grown more productive.

Cuomo remarked on NATO, stressing that it’s precisely what Russian President Vladimir Putin opposes. He acknowledged a potential inconsistency in his views but noted that Trump has succeeded in strengthening NATO in ways that President Joe Biden has not. Additionally, NATO members have committed to increasing their defense spending from 2% to 5% of GDP by 2035, a shift that occurred after Trump pressured them, contradicting critics who warned that his tactics would weaken the alliance.
