Chris Wallace Says There Is ‘0% Chance’ Harris Will Appear For Debate On Fox News

CNN's Chris Wallace said Friday that there's no chance that Vice President Kamala Harris will debate Republican nominee Donald Trump on Fox News.

Wallace told CNN News Central that when Harris was a presidential candidate in 2020, he refused to participate in private meetings between her and the president of Fox News to discuss possible town halls or interviews. On August 3, Trump invited Harris to debate Fox News hosts on September 4, but she did not respond.

“I think the chances of her agreeing to debate on Fox are below zero, below zero,” Wallace said. “Let me tell you a little story: When she was running in 2019, the president of Fox News and I, who were supposed to be pretty unbiased, went and convinced a lot of Democrats to do town hall meetings and interviews. [Democratic Massachusetts Sen.] Elizabeth Warren met with us. [independent Vermont Sen.] Bernie Sanders met with us, but the only Democrat who refused to meet with us privately just to discuss a possible Fox appearance was Kamala Harris. There is zero chance she will agree to a Fox interview.”

Trump and Harris faced off in Tuesday's debate, moderated by ABC hosts David Muir and Lindsey Davis, with the former president accusing the hosts of clearly showing bias against him by fact-checking the show more frequently than his opponents and calling for ABC's media licence to be revoked. The former president, in a statement on Thursday, refused to agree to another debate with Harris, citing her “failure to show up” to other debates hosted by CBS News, Fox News and NBC News. He proposed three debates at a press conference on August 8, and Harris' campaign agreed to another one in October if she attended the Sept. 10 debate.

“She didn't show up to the Fox debate and refused to appear on NBC and CBS. Kamala should focus on what she should have done the last four years. There will be no third debate,” Trump said. Written.

Trump debated President Joe Biden with CNN moderators on June 27, during which Biden visibly stumbled and spoke hoarsely. The president's performance ultimately led him to withdraw from the presidential race on July 21 at the urging of several Democratic lawmakers.
