Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is reportedly urging President Joe Biden to stop campaigning, according to ABC News Washington bureau chief Jonathan Karl.
Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kahl spoke of the “increased” pressure on Biden since his poor performance in a debate with former President Donald Trump in late June. stated During a private one-on-one meeting between the Senate Democratic leader and Biden on Saturday, Schumer reportedly made the “case” for the president to step down as a nominee.

The White House told the Daily Caller News Foundation it has no plans to change course and that Biden will remain the nominee in November.
“The President conveyed to both party leaders that he is their party's nominee, that he intends to win, and that he looks forward to working with them to pass a 100-day package to support working families,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates told DCNF.

And I've heard House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries convey that opinion directly to the president as well,” Kahl continued.
Jeffries previously acknowledged that he spoke with Biden on July 12, telling his colleagues that he “gave Biden direct feedback, extensive insights, heartfelt views and conclusions about the way forward that our caucus shared during our recent meeting.” according to A letter sent to a dear colleague from his office.

Concerns about Biden remaining as the nominee began circulating in late June, as a growing number of Democrats in both the House and the Senate came out in opposition to the president leaving office, after Biden had visibly struggled to finish his remarks during debates and froze mid-sentence.
Despite the gaffes and criticism from lawmakers, Biden and his campaign remain committed to the campaign. In an interview with BET on Wednesday, Biden said he would only be prepared to withdraw from the race if health problems arose or his doctors advised him to do so.
Adding to the concerns of politicians, a CBS/YouGov post-debate vote The survey found that 72% of Americans believe the president's mental and cognitive health is not good enough to stay in the job, up seven points from the previous survey in early June.
Schumer's office did not immediately respond to the DCNF's request for comment.
