Cochise County primary – AZPM

Ballots for the General Election for Legislative District 19 will look the same as this week’s primaries. Each precinct elects two of her…and the Republican Party has two of her running…Gail Griffin and Lupe Diaz. They both face off against Democrat Sanda Clarke, who was the only Democrat in her party’s primary for a seat.

In the race for Cochise County Superior Court First Division Judge, Republican nominee Raymond Haight has received 7,690 votes so far, and Democratic nominee Joel Larson has received 7,666 so far, winning less than 30 votes. I couldn’t get it. Republican Ruth Faulkner overtook both, and so far he has received 6,224 votes.

Among the Republican nominees for Justice of the Peace (including Benson) in District 3, Bruce Staggs leads Republican candidate Del Zola by over 100 votes. Stags so far he has garnered 1,285 votes and Torah so far he has 1,176 votes.

The remaining county candidates in the primary are almost all running unopposed.

Republican Senator David Gowan is running as an independent to retain his seat in the Senate representing the 19th District, and has so far received 13,523 votes.

Current Third Division Superior Court Judge John Kelliher Jr. — the Republican nominee — has so far retained his seat on the bench with 13,772 votes. Division II Superior Court David He is also running as an independent for Justice Thorne as the Republican nominee, and to date he has received more than 13,667 votes.

High Court Clerk Amy Hanley — a Republican — has so far won 13,917 votes and has retained her position as Clerk. She has no enemies in her.

All magistrate candidates are running without a vote.

Republican candidate Trevor Ward, who is running for justice of the peace in Wilcox, has received 1,288 votes so far, and Kenneth Kaufman, also a Republican candidate, has the most votes in the race for justice of the peace in Sierra Vista. It has 8,292 votes.

The three Democratic candidates for magistrates in districts 1, 2 and 6 — Janus Poppe, Alma Wildsola and Ruben Adame — received 1,467, 1,248 and 40 votes respectively.

Benson Mayor Joe Konrad leads the poll with just over 700 votes, 200 ahead of his opponent Chris Tapia, who has so far received 585 votes.

For three City Council seats, Seth Judd, Levi Johnson and Cindy Tapia lead the top three with 631, 603 and 597 votes respectively.

Tombstone Mayor Dustin “Dusty” Escapule leads Steve McNeely by 126 votes. Colin Regan, Bill Barlow, Charlene McMahon and James “Lefty” Neubauer are leading the race for city council.

Wilcox & Bisbee

All Wilcox and Bisbee mayoral and city council seats are incumbent and will not be opposed.

The towns of Sierra Vista and Huachuca will pit their candidates against each other in the November 8 general election.

The Cochise County Recorder’s Office reports 2,459 early ballots, 125 provisional ballots, and 108 pending amendments. The deadline for the signature to harden is 5 p.m. on August 9, after he is five calendar days from the election.
