COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN) — The Cochise County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team helped rescue multiple hikers in dangerous situations on Tuesday, March 5th.
The first rescue took place at Rockfellow Dome in the Dragoon Mountains. CCSO received a report of a 72-year-old man trapped in a 200-foot narrow ditch.

Rescue workers arrived by helicopter and made their way to the trapped hikers. Despite the bad weather, the crew was able to get the hikers to safety. Fortunately, the hiker was not injured.
The same day, several CCSO Search and Rescue personnel responded to the Silver Peak Trail in Portal. Police received a call from a 67-year-old woman who needed help. Leaders said the woman injured her ankle while walking on the trail.

Search and rescue teams worked with the Portal Fire Department to stabilize the wound. The hiker was then taken off the trail and returned to safety with the help of Wildland Firefighters working in the area.
