Main quote from this episode
We are fully staffed when it comes to sworn staff. In fact, there are people waiting to be hired. I am a police cop leader. I believe I can support the men and women in law enforcement who risk their lives every day. And I’m an active duty sheriff traveling with them. The challenge I face is our detention and prison employment. ”
During my last 11 years as Sheriff, we have secured over $100 million in external funding to lead innovative and creative programs that keep our communities safe. ”
The challenges we face are exactly what law enforcement does, but the big challenge since I became a sheriff and even before that is the border. We will always have border crime. But let me tell you this: I’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly of this border, and now we’re seeing the ugliest. ”
