Coconino County assigns new resident deputy to Tuba City | Navajo-Hopi Observer

Tuba City, Arizona — Coconino County Sheriff Jim Driscoll recently announced that the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office will again appoint a resident agent to the Tuba City district.

The position has been vacant since Deputy Robert James retired several years ago.

Since James’ retirement, the Navajo Nation Police Department or the Arizona Police Department have stabilized the situation and the Paige and Flagstaff neighborhoods have handled requests for service until the arrival of the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Arnold Maryboy was hired and began field training in the Flagstaff area. Once her training is complete, Maryboy will be patrolling around Tuba City full-time for the Sheriff’s Office.

Maryboy is a longtime resident of Tuba City.

“Mary Boy has years of training and experience,” CCSO said.

Prior to joining the sheriff’s office, Merryboy worked for 17 years as an environmental law enforcement officer in the Criminal Enforcement Division of the Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency.

Maryboy has a long history of community involvement, including playing a key role in Tuba City’s Toys-4-Tots, organizing and running the Navajo Nation Fair, and organizing various public events and trainings. I have.
