Coconino County Proposes New Increases to Property Taxes

Coconino County Property Tax Increases Proposed for 2026

Coconino County has put forward plans for property tax increases in fiscal year 2026 across four areas: the county itself, the Flood Management District, the Library District, and the Public Health Services District. For instance, a property valued at $732,000 according to Zillow has a full cash value (FCV) of $487,416 and a limited property value (LPV) of $308,100, leading to an expected county tax increase of $23.00 for both primary and secondary property taxes in 2026.

Coconino County

The proposed rise in Coconino County’s taxes is set at 2.0%, unchanged from the 2025 primary property tax. This means that on a home valued at $308,100, the estimated primary property tax would be $148.82, which includes the new tax increases. If this proposal didn’t go through, the total tax for that home would amount to $145.83.

Flood Control District

For the Flood Control District, there is a proposed increase of 5.09%, up from the previous year’s major property tax of 4.25%. This change would raise the main property tax on a $308,100 home to $154.05, factoring in the increases. Without this adjustment, the homeowner would be paying $146.56.

Library District

The Library District is seeing a proposed hike of 11.48%, compared to last year’s primary property tax rate of 10.84%. For a $308,100 home, the tax would rise to $97.26, including the new rates. If the increase were not implemented, the tax burden would have been $87.22.

Public Health Services District

In the Public Health Services District, the proposed increase is 4.43%, compared to a 3.35% major property tax collection in 2025. This would mean a tax amount of $77.03 on a home valued at $308,100, which includes the increase. Without the proposed hike, the total tax would be $73.74.

Residents of Coconino County are encouraged to participate in the tax hearing scheduled for Tuesday, June 24th at 6 PM. For those unable to attend, comments can be mailed to the Secretary of the Board of Supervisors, 219 E. Cherry Ave., Flagstaff, AZ 86001. While these comments will be presented to the Supervisory Committee, they won’t be read aloud during the meeting.
