Community Notification: Sex Offender Residency in Yavapai County | Prescott Valley Times local news

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is required to release the following information pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Sex Offender Community Notification Law: The offender in this publication resides in an unincorporated area of ​​Yavapai County. Community notification is the responsibility of the Chief Law Enforcement Officer's Office with jurisdiction over the offender's place of residence. Notification must be given when a particular sex offender is released from an Arizona prison, accepted under an interstate compact, or released back into the community from a county jail. Offenders are classified into three levels: Level 1 (low risk to the community), Level 2 (moderate risk to the community), and Level 3 (high risk to the community).

The individual listed on this notice, Harold James Furch, age 42, has been convicted of a sex offense that warrants community notification. This sex offender has notified the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office that he will be residing at 19356 E. Albins Way, Black Canyon City Az, 8324. At this time, this individual is not wanted by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

On September 17, 2004, in Gila County, a 22-year-old offender was convicted of attempted sexual conduct with a minor and sentenced to 10 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections. The victim was a 12-year-old female known to the offender.

This notice is not intended to increase fear; rather, the Sheriff's Office believes that an informed community is a safer community. It will not be tolerated for citizens to misuse this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass sex offenders.
